This backyard oasis nails the less-is-more approach with a swimming hole-style inground pool and contemporary pool house bar. Located at a lush, coastal community within Charleston, SC, this home mixes clean lines with tranquil pops of color.

The contemporary, minimalist theme is carried throughout the outdoor space, from the perfectly edged rectangular pool to fully functional, wood-lined wet bar, complete with mini fridge and sink. Even the hardscaping was given a modern makeover. FireRock's wet-cast, handcrafted pavers in "Oyster" color (random pattern) were used to complete the pool decking, patio, and grounds surrounding the outdoor bar.

This mix of deeply saturated blue with wood tones, green foliage and crisp, white pavers creates an unbelievably Zen outdoor space that will remain peaceful and stylish for decades to come.

Project Stats:

A stylish, minimalist fence in matching blue tones surrounds the pool, making the backyard space safer and balanced.

Lounge chairs are covered by a large umbrella. Darker color seating and walnut wood tones add symmetry to the wood tones located across the pool in the bar area.

Cement panters flank the walk-in opening to the fully functional outdoor wet bar, perfect for pool parties and outdoor entertaining.

A closer look at the mixing of elements - FireRock's concrete pavers in "Oyster," our truest, natural white, plus the darker wood and black cushioning pairs perfectly.

Finally, a look at the pool coping, always an important consideration for any pool/patio paving decision. Here, FireRock's straight-edge coping is used for this very angular, traditional pool. SEK-Surebond's glossy finish is used to seal the pavers and protect them for many sunny and stormy days to come. Medium amounts of weathering and pitting were requested for this project, as can be seen in the last photo below.
