FAQs
Can your wet-cast pavers be used indoors and outdoors?
Yes. FireRock Pavers can be used both inside and outside the home. Our finishing process adds depth and texture to create the look of natural stone.
Is it possible to order custom sizes?
FireRock can accommodate customization in size and color but does require a minimum order and special pricing.
Do your pavers get hot in the summertime when exposed to UV rays?
Per accredited 3rd party testing, FireRock pavers have been tested for their Solar Reflectance Index, which is a measure that is used to calculate surface temperature. The higher an SRI value (scale of 1-100) the lower its surface temperature will be. It is calculated using the following values: Solar Reflectance – the percentage of the total solar energy that is reflected away from a surface Thermal Emittance – the measure of a paver’s ability to release heat that it has absorbed Four out of five FireRock paver color options exceed the LEED minimum for hardscape surfaces! Not surprisingly, lighter colored surfaces will stay cooler than darker colored ones.
What should I do with my pavers if I'm not ready to install them yet?
Remove any shipping covers other than straps before storing. Store in a covered, dry location prior to installation. If pavers are exposed to moisture prior to installation and sealing, streaking, efflorescence or other adverse visual effects may occur.
My pavers don't look uniform. Is this normal?
Because FireRock Pavers are made by hand, each paver is unique. Variation of color, texture, and finish is a natural characteristic of our handcrafted process, and is to be expected. To ensure a beautiful, natural looking installation, FireRock recommends mixing separate pallets together and doing a dry layout prior to final installation.
Should your pavers be sealed?
Yes! We recommend sealing pavers immediately following installation.
How can your pavers be cleaned?
Our pavers can be cleaned with a diluted multi-purpose cleanser like SEK Surebond.
Will my pavers still stain after your sealer has been applied?
Staining is a possibility even after sealing, especially if the pavers come into contact with substances such as oil, coffee, red wine or other food and beverages. To minimize the likelihood of staining, spilled substances should be removed as soon as possible and pavers kept clean of debris and dirt build up. Should staining occur, FireRock offers a variety of SEK Surebond cleaners that are compatible with our product. Those cleaners include Stain & Rust Buster, Oil Extractor and Sure Clean, which is a deep penetrating multi-use cleaner.
