FireRock Wood Flooring
Wood flooring defines the character of a room. It adds warmth and beauty like only a natural material can. This is why FireRock is proud to offer authentic solid wood flooring, as well as the highest-quality engineered wood flooring.
We built (and continue to build) a valuable network that provides ongoing, national access to wood flooring. By optimizing the purchasing process on your behalf, FireRock is able to find the best combination of pricing & availability.
Solid Wood Flooring
We specialize in wide plank, longer length material that allows for fewer seams. Only the highest quality wood flooring is selected by FireRock. We can guarantee availability in 5 species - Hickory, White Oak, Walnut, Antique Heart Pine and Antique Oak - but have access to more than 40 species across the country to satisfy any need.
FireRock partners with some of the country's top sawmills. This allows us to provide a diversified selection of high-quality wood flooring - from the craftsman's mill to your door.
Engineered Wood Flooring
Certain rooms are better suited for engineered wood flooring rather than solid wood flooring. For these applications, FireRock is proud to offer a complete line of engineered wood flooring, including popular species like White Oak, Red Oak, Hickory and Brazilian Cherry. We also offer Hard Maple, American Black Walnut, American Cherry, Eucalyptus, Santos Mahogany and Sapele.
Our collection of engineered flooring is available in unfinished or prefinished options, and has an industry-leading 3/16" wear layer. This allows engineered hardwoods to have the same refinishing properties as solid hardwood.
Solid Wood vs. Engineered Wood Flooring
The choice between solid and engineered wood flooring is not one of quality, but instead is dictated by the subfloor it will be placed on. Solid wood consists of thick, solid planks milled from a single piece of wood. It can be repeatedly sanded, and can last for decades. But because solid hardwood is natural, it is suseptible to temperature and humidity changes, and is therefore not reccommended for damp spaces. Engineered wood is made of a veneer layer that sits atop a core of plywood. This construction deals with moisture better and is recommended for concrete slab subfloors, basements and rooms with in-floor radiant heating.
